How to Use Logical Functions in Microsoft Excel

Written By Nohara Binti Parahita Niya on Sunday, April 28, 2013 | 5:30 PM

In previous articles, we've learned how to use the standard formula-formula in Microsoft Excel. Now we will learn about how to use Logic Functions in Microsoft Excel. To understand more about the function of logic, then we will learn several things including:

Operator Relations
IF Logic Function
IF function with two Test Logic
Branching IF function

1. Operator Relations
To use the logic function in microsoft excel, we must first know about the relational operators. Relational operators are the operators to compare two or more data in a single cell. If true (True) then the value is 1, and if false (False) value is 0.

The types of relational operators are:
equals (=)
greater (>)
greater than or equal to (> =)
smaller (<)
less than or equal to (<=)
not equal to (<>)
AND, OR and NOT.
2. IF Logic Function
Logic function known as the IF function, whose utility to define / fill a Cell based on another Cell / certain criteria, while the formula is: IF (Logical Test; Value if True; Value IF False).
Example:

In the picture above example, we use the IF function to display information in full or still payable on KET column., How:
In cell E4 enter formula: = IF (C4 = D4; "Keel"; "Still Debt $." & C4-D4)
At E5 cell enter the formula: = IF (C5 = D5; "Keel"; "Still Debt $." & C5-D5)
On the E6 cell enter the formula: = IF (C6 = D6; "Keel"; "Still Debt $." & C6-D6)
At E7 cell enter the formula: = IF (C7 = D7; "Keel"; "Still Debt $." & C7-D7)
At E8 cell enter the formula: = IF (C8 = D8; "Keel"; "Still Debt $." & C8-D8)

* For the separator between Logical Test, Value if True, Value IF False can use a comma (,) or a semicolon (;) depending on the language setting of the computer you are using.

3. IF function with two Test Logic
This function to determine the data is determined by two criteria test.
Example:

Example of Calculating the employee's salary, provided that:
If pend. S1 and work experience <3 years, $, 900
If pend. S1 and work experience <= 3 years, $ .1.200
If pend. D3 and work experience <3 years, $ .600
If pend. D3 and work experience <= 3 years, $ .850

Writing the formula in cell F3:

* Doing drag drop further down the column starting from the corner of F3 to copy the formula down to the next line (F4 sd F7)

4. Branching IF function
This logic function is determined by rang-range or level tententu.
Example of Calculating the average value of the test.

Writing formula:
On Cell F4: = AVERAGE (C4: E4)
On your G4: = IF (F4> = 80, "A"; IF (F4> = 66; "B"; IF (F4> = 56; "C"; IF (F4> = 46; "D"; " E "))))
On Cell H4: = IF (OR (G4 = "A"; G4 = "B"); "Passed"; IF (G4 = "C"; "Repeaters"; "Fail"))

* Doing drag drop further down in the column average, value and description to copy the formula down.

That's How to Use Logic Functions in Microsoft Excel, Good Work.

Download Excel Formulas and How to Change "Point Koma" (semicolon) Being "Koma" Excel Formulas

Microsoft Office Excel could not be separated from the formula excel formula most often used in works related to data management office. we know its own right and a highly variable excel formula loads. What formula is most often used when we are using excel. To simplify I divide it into 7 categories:
Formula Logic Functions
Information Function formula
Text Function formula
Formulas Lookup and Reference Functions
Formulas Functions Date and Time
Formulas Mathematical Functions
Formulas Database Functions

How to Change "Point Coma" (semicolon) Being a "coma" Excel Formulas
Excel formulas and studying his material formulas using standard formulas abroad there with an example like this: = DCOUNT (A4: E10, "Age", A1: F2) after we practice in our computer results are really excel formulas are not acceptable??? alias fails bin error, etc.. Do not be confused before, I have an explanation and a solution ^ _ ^

difference:
= DCOUNT (A4: E10, "Age", A1: F2) ==> Standart Affairs
= DCOUNT (A4: E10; "Age"; A1: F2) ==> Standart We
Know the difference right? signs, and,

problem:
Standart our country with there different overseas in her Separator or Decimal Symbol. We use the point "," out there using commas "."

solution:
Yes, our standard locker wrote, equated with their standard: D Let her learn the process so easy :).

Here's a video tutorial explanations

And the following video tutorial how to equalize the standard:

After that try again wear his formula comma ","
May be useful (^ _ ^) v
